Matua Whangai

Maatua Whangai means that we are committed to returning children to their whanau, hapu, iwi and to empower the whanau.

Criteria for Services

~ Whanau must be Maori.

~ Whanau must have dependant tamariki/rangatahi living with them

~ Whanau working towards tamariki/rangatahi being returned to their care

~ Whanau agrees to work with Otautahi Social Services and are willing to make a positive change

~ Whanau are willing to fill and complete their whanau plan/s

Maatua Whangai Homes

Respite care at Maatua Whangai homes for home-based support service referrals. Placements are for tamariki 0-16 years. Whanau are encouraged to attend programmes which support a positive home environment. Whanau worker attached to Maatua Whangai homes.
